The Washington Spirit announced today that the club has waived defender Alex Singer.

Singer played in five games for the Spirit, starting in three games, during the 2015 NWSL season.  The New York native signed in June 2014 from Turbine Potsdam in Germany and made 11 starts.

“Alex has been a great person and player for our club and someone who brought everything to training and game day,” Spirit head coach Mark Parsons said. “It is tough to see her leave but I want to thank her for every contribution she made to the Spirit.”

The Spirit will go on the road to face the Chicago Red Stars on June 20. Washington Spirit single game tickets and group packages are now available. Check out all of the phenomenal NWSL soccer at the Maryland SoccerPlex by calling 301-337-8579.
