Continue reading for a look at some of the most notable statistics heading into the Spirit’s first of two home games against Portland – and only at the Maryland SoccerPlex, before the teams conclude the season series on August 25 at Audi Field – during the 2018 regular season.
Spirit defender Caprice Dydasco is one of the only three players in the league who averages more than 75 touches per game.
Goalkeeper Aubrey Bledsoe, defender Whitney Church, midfielder Andi Sullivan and forward Ashley Hatch have recorded the maximum 630 minutes through Washington’s first seven regular season games.
Center back Whitney Church has racked up six blocked shots so far this season, most on the team.
Washington has scored five of its seven total goals on the season over the course of three home games.
Bledsoe’s 37 total saves through seven games ranks first in the NWSL by a wide margin. Her efficiency is also among the league’s best, as only Seattle’s Michelle Betos (83%) has stopped a higher percentage of shots faced.
