The Washington Spirit are proud to announce we have completely sold out for today’s game against the Portland Thorns. With strong ticket sales from the beginning of the season, the we have capped ticket sales even above the generally accepted Maryland SoccerPlex capacity of 4,500, but at this time feel even the wide concourses and large grass hill areas will not be able to accommodate any more fans.
Fans missing out on tickets can watch online at www.youtube.com/nwsl
The box office will be closed. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. There will be NO REENTRY once fans enter the stadium. All fans must have a printed ticket with them to enter. Please do not enter the Discovery Sports Center building at any time. ATM, food, bathrooms are all accessible from inside our stadium.
We ask that all attending fan respect each other and the game by cooperating to help all fans have a view of the game. Please do not expect to be able to sit on Spirit Hill, as standing will likely be the only way everyone will fit. For those standing along the concourses, please allow any younger or less tall fans in front.
And all fans in seats, please obey the seating sections for which you hold tickets. On the “Away GA” side of the stadium, all seats are on bleachers, so each fan should sit as close to the next as reasonable for a crowded event. The bleacher rows should hold 18-20 average sized adults. On the “Home GA” side of the stadium, the bleacher seats are capped with numbered seats. While the section, row, and number are not assigned in a General Admission format, each fan should only take up one actual seat. And for “VIP Reserved” seating in sections 104-107, you must sit in the section, row, and seat for which you were ticketed.
This will be an historic day for professional women’s soccer in the Washington region. Together, we can put the pro game back on the map for good. Thank you for your support!
