- Saturday night’s match will be the Spirit’s first in 17 days. After dropping a home match to Portland at Segra Field on Wednesday, August 10, Washington entered a break in league play originally scheduled so it could compete in the annual Women’s International Champions Cup. After opting out of the tournament earlier in the regular season, the side instead used the break for rest and recovery entering the final stretch of the regular season.
- The last time the Spirit took on the Dash was in 2021’s final regular season match when it locked up a home playoff match by way of a 1-0 victory. Trinity Rodman scored the game-winner in the 76th minute of the Halloween contest at Audi Field.
- This will be the 22nd time the Spirit has played Houston in the club’s history. In the previous 21 matchups, Washington has earned a 10-7-4 edge against the Dash.
- Washington earned its lone score in its last match by way of an opposing own goal when Thorns FC goalkeeper Bella Bixby backed over the goal line while possessing the ball late in Washington’s bout with Portland.
- Washington currently has nine draws in its 16 regular season matches. With two more ties this year, the Spirit will equal 2021 NJ/NY Gotham FC’s league-record 11 single-season draws.
- In 13 regular season matches this year, goalkeeper Aubrey Kingsbury has notched 41 saves, good enough for eighth-best in the league despite having played in fewer games than all seven players who rank above her. Kingsbury’s three missed matches were as a result of her being called up to the USWNT for the Concacaf Women’s Championship in Mexico.

- Spirit defender Amber Brooks played for the Dash for four seasons from 2016 through 2019.
