Boyds, MD (March 5, 2018) – The Washington Spirit has announced its updated National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) preseason roster as the club begins its third full week of preseason training camp.

The updated roster features 29 total players, including three non-roster invitees.

Six Spirit players currently with their respective national teams – midfielder Yanara Aedo (Chile), forward Francisca Ordega (Nigeria), forward Mallory Pugh (USA), defender/midfielder Rebecca Quinn (Canada), defender Taylor Smith (USA) and midfielder Andi Sullivan (USA) – will be re-joining or reporting to training camp later this week, at the conclusion of the FIFA international break.

Defender Rachel Moore, who was selected in the fourth round of the 2018 NWSL College Draft, has returned to William & Mary to complete her academic coursework.

Forward Cheyna Matthews (pregnancy) will be unavailable for the 2018 NWSL season.

The Spirit will kick-off its preseason slate this Saturday, March 10 for a friendly against 22-time women’s college champion University of North Carolina. The game will be played at Evergreen Sportsplex in Leesburg, Va. [TICKETS]

On March 17, the Spirit will host the first ever NWSL match played in Richmond, Va. when they face the North Carolina Courage at the historic City Stadium. More than 2,000 tickets have already been sold for the game. Tickets are available at RichmondKickers.com. [TICKETS]
