Sarr added to SEI list after missing the past two and a half months with a back injury
Washington, D.C. (11/27/2024) – Washington Spirit forward Ouleye Sarr has been placed on the season-ending injury (SEI) list as she rehabs a back injury, the club announced today. Sarr suffered the injury during the Spirit’s September 7 home match against Portland and has been rehabbing with the Spirit Performance, Medical and Innovation department. The forward is eligible to return from the SEI list in 2025.
Since joining the Spirit midway through the 2023 season, Sarr has tallied ten goals and four assists with the team. In 2024 alone, the star forward tied Trinity Rodman for the team regular season scoring lead with eight goals across just 19 matches and added two assists.
Sarr is originally from Évreux in the Normandy region of France. From 2005 to 2013, she competed for various youth clubs in Évreux before turning pro with PSG in 2013. At the international level, Sarr tallied seven goals in 22 appearances for various French youth national teams before making her senior team debut in 2017. Since her first senior team call-up, Sarr has earned 28 caps for France, netting nine goals in the process including a four-goal match against Estonia during 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualification last year.
