After kicking off the season in Seattle last weekend, the Spirit returns to the District for a matchup against Bay FC on March 23 at 7:30 p.m. at Audi Field, opening their home schedule against a new West Coast foe. The Spirit enter 2024 with a new roster, a new coach and new optimism. With so much to look forward to, made a list of the top 10 reasons you’re going to want to be at Audi Field on March 23.

1. It’s the HOME OPENER! All the first-home-game-of-the-season vibes, plus your first chance to see the 2024 squad in action. Defender Casey Krueger and forward Brittany Ratcliffe are two veteran free agent additions looking to wear the Spirit black kits for the first time, while six first year players look to make their Audi Field debuts. When they ask, “where were you the first time Croix Bethune, Hal Hershfelt and the 2024 rookies played at home?” the only answer is “at Audi Field.”

2. Speaking of debuts, Trinity Rodman will make her 2024 debut at home after missing the season opener serving a red card suspension carried over from the 2023 finale. After a strong winter with the USWNT, we can’t wait to see Trin back on the field for the Spirit.

3. CHERRY. BLOSSOM. MERCH. Designed by Domo Wells, the Spirit’s first Creative Director & Designer, this limited edition capsule will drop exclusively in-stadium during peak bloom on Saturday, March 23.

4. A new style of play is expected with the offseason additions of head coach Jonatan Giráldez and interim head coach Adrián González, and March 23 is your first chance to see what the team has been working on all offseason.

5. There’s also top tier entertainment on and off the field. Iconic DC cover band White Ford Bronco will hit the Spirit Stage pregame and the iconic dance crew JABBAWOCKEEZ will perform at halftime.

6. Free stuff! The Spirit are giving out 2024 schedule magnets to fans in attendance while supplies last. You can print the schedule from home, but you just can’t beat a magnet.

7. The rookies aren’t the only ones playing at Audi Field for the first time. Expansion-side Bay FC comes to town for the first time, as they play their second-ever game. Their roster includes several international signings who are new to the NSWL, including Deyna Castellanos and Asisat Oshoala who already scored in her league debut.

8. There are tons of different ways to get tickets, including a $15 ticket and a drink special, $5 tickets for college students, and discounted tickets for military members and first responders. Check out our ticket promotions here.

9. The Supporters’ Section deserves its own bullet. Come hang out with Spirit Squadron, Rose Room Collective, 202 Unique and Buzzards Point Social in the north end of the stadium.

10. Missed the 2024 core collection drop at First Look? Fans at the home opener will have the opportunity to snag their favorite pieces before the collection becomes available online. With a new color in the mix there’s plenty of cool new items to grab.
