Didn’t make it to Audi Field Monday night for First Look? We’ve got you covered with a rundown of all the highlights you missed. Don’t let this FOMO last, though. Get tickets for the Spirit’s home opener on Saturday, March 23 against Bay FC at 7:30 pm.
1) 2024 ROOKIE CLASS INTRODUCED:
Six first-year players have officially joined the roster. Forward Makenna Morris, midfielders Croix Bethune, Courtney Brown, Hal Hershfelt, and Heather Stainbrook as well as defender Kate Wiesner all signed with the club to begin their NWSL careers.
“Signing this year’s rookie class is an important step in taking the Spirit toward the club’s goal of competing at a high level year in and year out,” said President of Soccer Operations/General Manager Mark Krikorian.
2) NEW MERCH DROPPED IN-STADIUM:
Millennial nostalgia took center stage as the Spirit Shop unveiled exclusive new merchandise during the event.

3) INTERIM HEAD COACH MAKES HIS DEBUT:
Fans in attendance got their first glimpse of Interim Head Coach Adrián González. It was a historic moment as Gonzalez led the players through their paces, setting the tone for what promises to be an exciting season ahead. His first match comes this Sunday, March 17 at Seattle Reign FC. The match will be available on Monumental Sports Network for fans in the DMV and on NWSL+.
4) PK ROCKED THE BLACKOUT JERSEY:
Everyone’s favorite mascot can’t wait for the season begin and has already received her official 2024 Washington Spirit Blackout replica kit. Get yours online at the Spirit Shop.
5) T-SHIRT TOSS
While fans knew the players excelled on the field, they were in for a surprise when the team showcased their impressive throwing arms during a t-shirt toss.
