Leesburg, VA., (06/01/21) – Sweden Women’s National Team Head Coach Peter Gerhardsson has named Spirit midfielder Julia Roddar to the roster for the team’s upcoming matches against Norway and Australia. 

Sweden will face Norway, the number 12 ranked team in the world, on Thursday, June 10 in Kalmar, Sweden (6:30 p.m. CET/12:30 p.m. ET). The final game prior to the Olympic squad being announced will be against Australia, the 9th ranked team in the FIFA rankings. This game will take place on Tuesday, June 15 in Kalmar, Sweden (6:45 p.m. CET/12:45 p.m. ET). Gerhardsson will then name the 18-player Olympic team on June 22. 

Roddar has eight caps for the senior national team. Most recently, she appeared in a February friendly against Malta. She joined the national team at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France and has been on several team sheets for recent European qualification games. She also appeared at the U-19 and U-17 levels, where she featured in 30 matches and recorded five goals.
