Boyds, Md., (10/2/19) – The Spirit will travel to Orlando to take on the Pride this Saturday for the 2019 season series finale at Exploria Stadium. The match was originally slated for Aug. 28, but was rescheduled due to inclement weather.
Washington is coming off one of their best performances of the season after their 2-1 comeback victory over North Carolina on Oct. 28. They’ll look to build off of that success as they close out the season in their final two games.
Here are some of the most important stats to keep an eye on as the Spirit take on Orlando this weekend.
The Spirit have managed to stay true to their possessive-dominant identity while playing against Orlando. Washington has also completed 247 more passes than the Pride through their first two games.
Four of the Spirit’s five goals against Orlando have been set up through a key pass. Cheyna Matthews, Tori Huster (2) and Ashley Hatch have all recorded assists in the series matchup against the Pride.
The season series with the Pride has been attack-heavy for both teams. Spirit goalkeeper Aubrey Bledsoe and Pride goalkeepers Haley Kopmeyer and Ashlyn Harris have made a combined 13 saves during the season series.
Washington and Orlando are tied at 5 goals each through their first two matches. However, Washington leads Orlando by 28 goals in total goal differential.
