The U.S. Women’s National Team will look to end its three-game October schedule on a high note as it faces New Zealand on Oct. 30 at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio (kickoff at 7:30 p.m. ET) in what will be the second meeting between these two teams in four days.
The USA won the first match by a 4-1 score on Oct. 27 at Candlestick Park in front of more than 16,000 fans as Megan Rapinoe, Carli Lloyd, Christen Press and Heather O’Reilly scored. On Oct. 20, the USA earned a rousing 4-0 victory over the world’s eighth-ranked side Australia, getting goals from Lauren Holiday, Abby Wambach, Lloyd and Press in front of a crowd of more than 19,000 at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
Head coach Tom Sermanni brings 21 players to Columbus in what will end an intense two weeks of training, travel and games. The match against New Zealand will be streamed live on ussoccer.com. This year, the U.S. has scored 51 goals while allowing nine, three of those to European champion Germany in an April 5 friendly in Offenbach, Germany. The USA has allowed only three goals in seven matches since that Germany game.
