Ahead of the team’s preseason opener, Washington Spirit players Lori Lindsey and Caroline Miller are scheduled to appear on Elliot in the Morning’s “Kegs & Eggs” special at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. on Friday, March 15.

Lindsey is a U.S. Women’s National Team mainstay with 30 career caps for the USWNT who also starred for the Washington Freedom earlier in her career. A D.C. resident, she is one of the Spirit’s most recognizable figures and is expected to anchor the midfield this season.

A product of Rockville, Md., Miller was a standout striker at the University of Virginia with 45 goals in her college career, ranking her second on the Cavaliers’ all-time scoring list. As a senior she was a finalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy, awarded annually to the top player in NCAA Division I soccer.

Kegs & Eggs takes place from 8 am-12 pm and features a range of live musical performances. Admission is free; ages 21 and older are welcome. Lindsay and Miller will appear on air during DC101’s live broadcast to discuss the Washington Spirit’s upcoming National Women’s Soccer League season, along with the club’s preseason college series, which kicks off on March 17.

The Spirit preseason pits the club against Penn State this weekend Duke (March 24), North Carolina (March 30), on the road against Maryland (April 3) and wrapping up the exhibition schedule against Virginia (April 6) ahead of the April 14 NWSL opener on the road against the Boston Breakers.
