Washington, D.C. (09/26/2026) — The Washington Spirit broke its club record for single season home attendance with this evening’s sellout crowd of 19,215 at Audi Field, the team announced today. The Spirit surpassed 200,000 fans in a regular season for the first time in club history for a total of 205,367 fans through only 13 home games, eclipsing the 186,152 regular season mark the club hit last year.
Saturday’s crowd of 19,215 marks the Spirit’s fourth sellout of the season.
Since moving its home matches to Audi Field, the Spirit has seen a steady and impressive increase in its average home attendance. The team averaged over 5,000 per home contest in 2021 before jumping to nearly 9,000 in 2022, nearly 11,000 in 2023, nearly 14,000 per home match in 2024 and last year becoming only the fourth women’s club in the world to average over 15,000 fans per game. This season, the Spirit is averaging 15,797 fans per game with an average of 16,857 on weekend matches.
The Spirit welcomed “Fan 200k” to Audi Field with confetti and a pink carpet and gave the lucky fan and his group an unforgettable experience. “Fan 200k” had his seats upgraded to premium and had the opportunity to lead the “Rise Up DC” chant before the match.
The Spirit still has two home matches remaining, welcoming rival Gotham FC on October 17 at 12:30 p.m. and the Chicago Stars on November 1 at 5:00 p.m. for Fan Appreciation Day. Tickets are available here.
