- Wednesday night’s matchup will be the first home contest for the Spirit’s seven USWNT players since June 17’s match against Louisville at Segra Field. Washington tied Louisville that night 2-2.
- The last time the Spirit took on Thorns FC in Portland was back in May when it netted an equalizer in the 63rd minute before having its go-ahead score disallowed due to an offside call in the 72nd minute.

Kingsbury’s three missed matches were as a result of her being called up to the USWNT for the Concacaf Women’s Championship in Mexico.
- With seven regular season matches remaining in 2022, the Spirit finds itself just nine points behind the playoff line.
