Louisville, KY (08/04/2022) – The Washington Spirit will take on Racing Louisville FC at Lynn Family Stadium on Friday night in the side’s first trip back to Kentucky since winning the 2021 NWSL Championship.

Defending Golden Boot Ashley Hatch will be available for the Spirit for the first time in seven weeks Friday night. Hatch’s last match with Washington was a home contest against Louisville at Segra Field. After managing just one goal and 12 shots on target in the absence of its USWNT players in the first half of July, the Spirit bounced back with a three-goal performance last week in North Carolina. With defenders Julia Roddar and Emily Sonnett still out, Washington will hope for another stellar performance from its attacking third. Racing Louisville FC will be just three days removed from its most recent match when it takes the pitch tomorrow night, having played OL Reign at home on Tuesday night.

The match will be broadcast on Paramount+ for fans in the United States and on Twitch for international viewers. Following the match, the Spirit will host a press conference with head coach Kris Ward and two players. Fans can stream the postgame presser via the Washington Spirit Twitch channel.
