Boyds, Md., (9/11/19) – With raised expectations and a continued fight for a playoff spot, the Washington Spirit will return to Audi Field on Saturday, Sept. 14 as they take on Reign FC.
The Spirit are sharing their excitement with Spirit Nation by passing out rally towels to the first 15,000 fans through the gates in addition “thunder sticks” to the first 7,500. Be sure to stick around, as 5,000 fans will receive GEICO reusable water bottles at the end of the night.
Season Ticket Holders will receive a commemorative 2019 “Making History” Team Photo celebrating the Spirit’s groundbreaking 2019 season.
Additionally, there will be a pregame Fan Zone at Gate A which will include the All-Star Band and inflatable games.
Inside the stadium, pre-game music will be played courtesy of DJ Pat Premier. During the game, the Spirit will be offering mid-game seat upgrades to the field-side sections. Post-game, pyrotechnics will cap off the exciting night in DC.
Last month at Audi Field, the Spirit came away with a 2-1 victory over the Orlando Pride and drew a record 19,871 fans from across the DMV, more than doubling the previous attendance record and set a new standard for Spirit Nation.
Following the exciting 2-1 victory over the Pride, majority owner of the Washington Spirit Steve Baldwin, addressed the crowd and shared his thoughts on the record-breaking attendance: “I think we learned that we need to open the gates a little earlier because we’re going to pack the house,” Baldwin said. “I think we can do this over and over again.”
Kickoff at Audi Field is slated for 7:30 p.m. ET. Gate A will open at 5:30 p.m. ET, with gates B and C opening at 6 p.m. ET. [TICKETS]
