Boyds, Md. (March 8, 2019) – The Washington Spirit has signed an important new club member: a large, blue bald eagle who goes by the name of PK.
PK the Eagle will play an important role in enhancing fan experience during games and embracing the unique D.M.V. community by taking part in the Spirit’s community outreach projects, and more.
PK was first drawn to the Spirit when she was flying overhead and heard the roar of the SoccerPlex crowd; ever since PK has been the Spirit’s No. 1 fanatical, flapping fan. PK is the ultimate Spirit supporter, evidenced by her blue-and-white feathers, and dedication to always repping the #SpiritFam in her custom-made home kit.
Our new large, blue-and-white feathered friend will play an important role in enhancing the fan experience offered by the Spirit during games, as well as being the leader of exciting community outreach projects within the DMV community. As we get closer the beginning of the regular season, Spirit fans will hear more from PK as she prepares to make her debut.
With the addition of the new Fan Zone, expansion of Famous Dave’s concessions and the addition of in-seat service, and the new signing of PK the Eagle as official club mascot, the Maryland SoccerPlex is being transformed with a dedication to making the Plex an unforgettable experience for the 2019 NWSL season.
