Boyds, MD – Thursday April 27 2017: Spirit players and staff head shots.

Boyds, MD (August 3, 2017) – Washington Spirit midfielder Line Sigvardsen Jensen earned her fifth consecutive start and played 68 minutes as the Denmark National Team defeated Austria on penalty kicks in the UEFA Women’s EURO Semifinals.

Following a scoreless draw through regulation and extra time, Denmark won the PK shootout 3-0, advancing to the nation’s first ever Women’s EURO title match with Thursday’s victory at Rat Verlegh Stadion in Breda, Netherlands.

Sigvardsen Jensen had played every minute of action through Denmark’s first four games in the tournament, and appeared on course to keep her streak going, before she was forced out of Thursday’s semifinal due to injury in the 69th minute. Prior to her injury, Sigvardsen Jensen played a key role in her left center midfield position for a Denmark side which held 59 percent of total possession against Austria.

Denmark will go up against host nation Netherlands in the Women’s EURO Final on Sunday, August 6 at a sold-out De Grolsch Veste stadium in the city of Enschede. [Live Stream]
