BOYDS, MD (November 2, 2016) – The Washington Spirit has loaned defender Megan Oyster and goalkeeper Kelsey Wys to the Newcastle Jets and forward Katie Stengel to the Western Sydney Wanderers for the 2016/17 Westfield W-League season. The Australian league runs from the beginning of November until February.

In Oyster’s first season with the Spirit in 2015, she became the first player in Spirit history to play every minute of every game of a single season. In 2016, she started 15 matches for the Spirit.

Wys started 12 regular season matches and both post season matches during her second season for the Spirit in 2016, recording two clean sheets.

Stengel joined the Spirit ahead of the 2016 season, playing in 19 regular season matches and scoring four goals, tied for second most on the team.

The trio will return to the Washington Spirit ahead of the 2017 NWSL season.
