- The Spirit looks to end a 12-match winless drought that began after the season opening win against OL Reign on May 1. Since the match, Washington has lost five, tied six and advanced after a penalty kick shootout in one.
- The Current is currently on a five-match unbeaten streak dating back to late May. Winning thee and drawing two matches over the span, Kansas City has also only trailed for ten minutes of game action since May 25.
- Washington will not have a chance to present former Spirit player and 2021 champion Sydney Schneider with her championship ring as the goalkeeper is currently competing with the Jamaica women’s national football team in the CONCACAF Women’s Championship.
- Midfielder Jordan Baggett returned from injury last week, playing in her first match since May 7’s Challenge Cup Championship match. Baggett tallied her first goal of the season in second half stoppage time on an assist from Tara McKeown, who also returned from injury.
- National team replacement (NTR) players Marissa Sheva and Jamia Fields both made their first career starts with the Spirit last week in San Diego. Fields’ start was also her first cap with the team.
- Midfielder/forward Averie Collins will be available to make her first appearance of the season once again. Collins returned to the lineup from injury last week.
- One NTR could make her Washington Spirit debut today as midfielder Katie Murray is available.
- The Spirit will be without Ashley Hatch, Aubrey Kingsbury, Kelley O’Hara, Trinity Rodman, Ashley Sanchez, Emily Sonnett and Andi Sullivan again today as the seven players continue to compete for the USWNT at the CONCACAF Women’s Championship in Monterrey.
- Rodman scored in the USWNT’s 5-0 win over Jamaica on Thursday, helping the side lock in its berth at next year’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

- About Takina Wilson: Wilson leads Planned Parenthood DC with more than 15 years of senior healthcare leadership experience in the area of physician practice management, business management, quality assurance and risk management, service development and operations. She initially joined PPDC as Vice President of Patient Services and took lead at COO in June of this year.
The match will be broadcast on Paramount+ for fans in the United States and on Twitch for international viewers. The team will return to DC next week to take on the Orlando Pride at Audi Field on Sunday, July 17.
