The Washington goalkeeper started every match for the Spirit in 2019, playing a total of 2,149 minutes, only being subbed off on October 5 against the Orlando Pride. The stalwart shot-stopper shared the league lead in total saves with Sky Blue keeper Kailen Sheridan with 86. 

Bledsoe also shares the title for the least goals scored against among goalkeepers who played in at least 20 matches as she only allowed 25 goals. Additionally, Bledsoe finished with the second-most clean sheets in the NWSL with 9, behind only Utah keeper Nicole Barnhart.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper was an essential part of the Spirit’s improvement from last season, as Washington earned 23 more points in 2019 than in 2018. The Spirit conceded 10 fewer goals this season and improved from a goal differential of -23 in 2018 to +5 in 2019. 

Bledsoe’s efforts were recognized across the league as she was named NWSL Player of the Week twice, earning the nod in week 4 and week 7.  Bledsoe also won NWSL Save of the Week three times during the 2019 season.

The Spirit goalkeeper will be returning to Australia to continue her dominance in the net for Sydney FC for the 2019 W-League season.

Bledsoe was named the 2018-2019 W-League Goalkeeper of the Year during her last stint down under after leading Sydney to their third Championship, and their second straight Grand Final. Bledsoe recorded 51 saves and 2 clean sheets in 13 appearances for Sydney FC during the 2018-2019 season.
