Boyds, Md., (9/10/19) – After a focused practice in preparation for the Sept. 14 match against Reign FC at Audi Field, the Washington Spirit players and coaches traveled to Inova Children’s Hospital to spend time with some of the young people receiving care at the facility.
The team split into three groups to visit patients on three different floors. Players made their way through the halls and stopped to spend time in each room.
Patients shared laughs, photos and also received stuffed animals and activity books brought by the Spirit players.
The players and coaches also chatted with the hospital staff and shared their appreciation for the opportunity to spend some time with the youth.
Additionally, the players met Bartley, a Hero Dog who works as a service dog for the facility.
The Spirit will return to Audi Field in Washington, D.C. on Sept. 14, as they take on Reign FC. Kickoff is set at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Spirit fans can stream the game on NBC Sports Washington and Monumental Sports Network.
