Paisley, Scotland – Tuesday November 13, 2018: The women’s national teams of the United States (USA) and Scotland (SCO) play in an international friendly game at Simple Digital Arena.

Boyds, Md. (November 13, 2018) – Washington Spirit forward Mallory Pugh assisted the game-winning goal and midfielder Rose Lavelle played the full 90 minutes as the U.S. Women’s National Team blanked Scotland 1-0 on Tuesday.

Pugh and Lavelle both earned spots in head coach Jill Ellis‘ starting lineup for the USA’s 2018 finale, as the team completed the year without losing a single match, and carries a 28-game unbeaten streak into 2019.

Lavelle recorded her 20th career international cap while Pugh earned her 43rd cap, also playing the full 90 minutes.

In a game highlighted by strong defensive performances from both the USA and Scotland, Pugh’s playmaking abilities ultimately proved to be the difference in the match, as she set up an Alex Morgan goal in the 39th minute for the 14th assist of her young career. The 20-year-old capped off a 2018 campaign in which she scored six goals and assisted three more.
