The U.S. will be taking on Jamaica in the CONCACAF Women’s Championship on October 14, in a tie at the Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. The U.S. concluded a perfect 3-0-0 run in Group A against Trinidad & Tobago last Wednesday, in which they scored 18 goals and conceded 0. Jamaica is coming off of a huge 9-0 win over Cuba, which lifted the Raggae Girlz to second place in Group B with a 2-0-1 record, placing them in the semifinals against the U.S.

Spirit players have made an impact for the U.S. WNT during the group stages, as Rose Lavelle has cracked into Jill Ellis’ starting lineup, and Mallory Pugh has made multiple appearances as a sub, to go along with one start. Lavelle stepped up in the USA’s last game against Trinidad & Tobago, as she scored twice in just over three minutes before being subbed off at halftime. Pugh was also subbed in during the 70 minute. Lavelle has two goals and one assist in the competition so far.

Canada vs Panama

Canada and Panama will also meet in Frisco, TX at the Toyota Stadium for their semi-final clash on October 14. Canada walked through the group stages, easily finishing on top of their group with a 3-0-0 record. Canada scored 17 goals, 12 of which came in their game against Cuba. They only conceded only to Costa Rica in their last game, a 3-1 win.

Panama finished second in Group A, behind the U.S., with a record of 2-0-1. Panama stunned Mexico last Wednesday after beating them 2-0 to qualify for the semi-finals. 17-year-old Goalkeeper Yenith Bailey has starred for Los Canaleros, as she has earned two clean sheets and saved a penalty against Mexico’s Charlyn Corral.

For Canada, Spirit defender Rebecca Quinn has played a large part in their group-topping performance. Quinn has so far notched one goal, her fourth internationally, and one assist, her third. Quinn has also been an instrumental part of a team-wide defensive effort for Canada, only allowing one goal in the tournament thus far, and has kept clean sheets against five of its last seven opponents overall.

Quinn has started all three games for Canada, in the Women’s Championship, bringing her to 42 international caps.
