Boyds, MD (March 21, 2018) – Washington Spirit midfielder Andi Sullivan, and forwards Ashley Hatch and Mallory Pugh have been named to the U.S. Women’s National Team’s 22-player preliminary roster for two friendly matches in April against Mexico.
The games will take place on Thursday, April 5 at EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Fla. (7 p.m. ET; FS1 & UDN) and on Sunday, April 8, at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston (12:30 p.m. CT; FOX). USA head coach Jill Ellis will name 18 players to suit up for each of the matches.
The two games will be a preview of a possible meeting in the CONCACAF Women’s World Cup qualifying tournament that will be held this coming fall. Both teams are in preparations for that competition, which will send three countries to the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France and a fourth into a two-game playoff with the third-place team from South America.
Washington will travel to the West Coast for a match-up with Seattle Reign FC on March 24, in the club’s NWSL regular season opener. Kickoff in Seattle is set for 10 p.m. ET.
Single game tickets for the Spirit’s regular season home games, including their March 31 home opener against the Orlando Pride, are available now at Tickets.WashingtonSpirit.com or by calling the club’s ticket office at 301-591-0927.
