The Washington Spirit announced today that the club has a new relationship with Potomac Soccer Association as a Youth Club Partner for the 2016 season.
The Spirit Youth Club Partnerships were formed to create a unique relationship between local clubs and the Spirit with the objective of providing valuable experiences and services to local youth soccer clubs, their staff, their parents, and their players.
Founded in 1980, Potomac Soccer is a premier soccer club in Maryland and serves approximately 1000 families. PSA fields both boys and girls teams at all levels of the game from U7/8 to Pro 23. Many players have gone on to distinguish themselves at the collegiate and professional level. This has been achieved through the efforts of a dedicated core of parents, coaches, and professional staff who provide programs of training and playing opportunity to develop the individual player to his or her maximum potential.
“We’re very excited to add a soccer club with such a distinguished history as Potomac Soccer Association to our Spirit Family,” said Spirit COO Ashlee Comber. “We can’t wait to work together to grow the game of soccer in our area.”
This relationship provides players and families in PSA with a close connection with the region’s professional women’s club and its players, a clinic with Spirit players exclusive to Potomac Soccer Association participants, and discounted tickets for PSA families throughout the 2016 season.
“Potomac Soccer is thrilled to partner with the Washington Spirit this year,” said Laurie Lane, Director of Potomac Soccer. “We are very fortunate to have some of the best players in the world competing in our backyard at the amazing Maryland SoccerPlex for our families to be able to watch and enjoy soccer at the highest level of the women’s game. Potomac Soccer is committed to providing the absolute best experience possible to each of our families and we believe that the Washington Spirit match day experience and player clinics are an integral part of that commitment.”
