Boyds, MD (June 21, 2017) – Washington Spirit midfielder Line Sigvardsen Jensen has been named to the Denmark Women’s National Team roster for the UEFA Women’s Euro 2017 tournament, set to take place from July 16 to August 6 in the Netherlands.
Denmark, the No. 15 nation in the FIFA world rankings, will face Belgium in its first Euro match on July 16 before finishing group play against Norway and host country the Netherlands.
Sigvardsen Jensen is one of seven Spirit players to appear in all of the team’s first nine regular season games of 2017. She scored her first career NWSL goal on April 22 in a 1-1 draw on the road against the Orlando Pride, driving home a header from near the top of the box. She notched her first assist of the season on May 6 in a 4-3 win over Sky Blue FC, setting up a Francisca Ordega strike in the sixth minute.
Sigvardsen Jensen will participate in training camp with the Denmark Women’s National Team prior to the start of the tournament.
