Partnering with Mattel, Inc.’s Barbie brand, the Spirit will offer special tickets for October 20 match that include Barbie giveaways
Washington, D.C. (10/3/2024) – In conjunction with its Fan Appreciation Night on October 20, the Washington Spirit will become the first soccer team to host a Barbie® Game Day™. Partnering with Mattel, Inc., owner of one of the most iconic brand portfolios in the world, the Spirit is offering a limited-edition ticket package that includes a co-branded Barbie™ and Washington Spirit belt bag.
The first 1,000 fans to purchase a special Barbie Game Day ticket will be eligible to redeem the belt bag. Limited season ticket member “add-on” Barbie tickets are also available.
The Spirit will join a list of internationally recognizable sports teams to participate in a Barbie Game Night and collaborate with the iconic Barbie brand. This year, Mattel partnered with AthLife, a leading sports and entertainment marketer, to launch branded experiences at prestige sports events across the country. Other Barbie Game Days have featured among world-renowned brands such as the Atlanta Braves and Houston Astros. The Chicago Sky debuted Barbie Game Night in its highly anticipated matchup against the Indiana Fever in August.

Single game buyers looking to partake in Barbie Game Day on October 20 can purchase tickets as low as $39, while groups of 10 or more can score deals as low as $34. Additionally, season ticket members are able to add the Barbie package to their pre-existing tickets for only $20. Supplementing the belt bag giveaway, 20% of all proceeds from season ticket member Barbie Game Day add-ons will be donated to Susan G. Komen, the nation’s largest breast cancer organization.
During the game, Washington Spirit will show Barbie’s latest brand campaign championing parents’ belief in kids’ potential, “Give Limitless Possibilities™.”
In the brand’s 65th anniversary year, Barbie continues to remind all fans of all teams that they can be anything, welcoming them to join the year-long celebration both on and off the field, court, or anywhere else they play.
As the Spirit embarks on a three-match away stretch, it could return home next month having clinched a top four seed and at least one home playoff match. The Spirit will take the field at home next on Sunday, October 13 against Racing Louisville FC. Kicking off at 5 p.m. EDT at Audi Field, the match will feature a celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. Tickets are available at WashingtonSpirit.com/tickets.
