Boyds, MD., (01/06/21) – U.S. Women’s National Team head coach Vlatko Andonovski has named Spirit goalkeeper Aubrey Bledsoe, defenders Kelley O’Hara and Emily Sonnett and midfielder Andi Sullivan to the 27-player roster for the USA’s January training camp set to be held January 9 – January 22 in Orlando, Florida.

The USWNT’s first training camp of 2021 will feature two matches against Colombia on January 18 (7 p.m. ET on FS1) and January 22 (7 p.m. ET on ESPN2). The two matches will be the first two held on home soil for the USWNT since concluding the SheBelieves Cup on March 11, 2020.

Bledsoe will be joining the senior WNT for the fourth time, with her first following shortly after she won both the NWSL and W-League Goalkeeper of the Year awards in 2018-2019. The Wake Forest alum was called up by Andonovski for the last two camps of 2020 in October and November, getting to travel with the team to the Netherlands. She will continue to aim to be a constant within the USWNT keeper corps heading into the Tokyo Olympics.

O’Hara was traded to the Spirit shortly after wrapping up the last camp for the USWNT in 2020. She was acquired from the Utah Royals on December 4, 2020. During a shortened year for the USWNT, O’Hara appeared in seven games, starting in five of those matches for a total of 451 minutes played. The veteran defender is looking to make her third Olympic roster after appearing for the US in both the 2012 London and 2016 Rio games.

Sonnett was another member of the squad called up for the November camp in the Netherlands. The Spirit acquired Sonnett from the Orlando Pride just prior to Christmas. She will be representing the USWNT for the first time as a member of the club. After being named an alternate for the 2016 Rio Olympics, Sonnett will be looking to make her Olympic debut in Tokyo. In 2020, Sonnett played in six games, starting four and racked up 384 minutes in total.

Sullivan is returning to the USWNT squad for the first time since a knee injury in the 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup. In 2020, Sullivan played in one match for the USWNT where she started and played all 90 minutes. The Spirit captain suffered a torn meniscus in July and missed all of the Fall Series, but made it back to play in two friendly matches for the Spirit to end the year. Sullivan is looking to make her first major tournament roster for the USWNT after narrowly missing out on the 2019 World Cup.
