Leesburg, VA (04/08/21) – The Washington Spirit have signed Chinyelu Asher, Camryn Biegalski and Cali Farquharson to National Team Replacement contracts.
Chinyelu Asher, a Silver Spring, Maryland native, is a midfielder for the Jamaican National Team. Prior to the Spirit, Asher played for Stabæk of the Toppserien in Norway. Asher played for the Spirit Reserves in 2018. She was a part of the Racing Louisville preseason roster this year. She will wear number 24 for the Spirit.
Camryn Biegalski is a defender from Lombard, Illinois who was drafted by the Chicago Red Stars in the 2020 NWSL Draft. Biegalski appeared in three games for the Red Stars during the 2020 Fall Series, where she had a 70 percent passing rate and completed 75 percent tackles successfully. Biegalski will wear number 30 for the Spirit.
Cali Farquharson will be a familiar name to Spirit fans as she played for the club from 2016-2019. In her time with the Spirit, the 27-year-old forward played in 1,597 minutes over 43 games. After being waived by the Spirit in November of 2019, Farquharson signed with Kif Orebro in Sweden. Farquharson will wear number 22 for the Spirit.
The Spirit will travel to Cary, North Carolina to take on the North Carolina Courage on Saturday, April 10 at 3:30 p.m. The match can be streamed on Paramount+ in the US and on Twitch for international viewers.
