Boyds, Md. (5/28/19) – Washington Spirit forward Ashley Hatch has been nominated for her first ever Goal of the Week award for her finish against the Chicago Red Stars last Sunday.
After collecting the ball on the far-right flank, forward Arielle Ship gathered the ball and sent a beautiful curling cross to the front of the box where Hatch was tangling with Red Stars defender Katie Naughton. Hatch was able to beat Naughton to the ball by extending her leg, redirecting the pass towards the back-left corner of the goal, beating Emily Boyd, who was stuck to her spot.
