Dear Investors,
September has been a month of milestones for the Washington Spirit both on and off the pitch.
On the field, forward Gift Monday etched her name into the record books this weekend, scoring the fastest hat trick in NWSL history. That electrifying performance not only set a league benchmark but also powered the Spirit to a decisive 4-0 victory, clinching our spot in the postseason.
We are also riding a 12-match unbeaten streak, a testament to the resilience and consistency of this team. With the momentum we’re carrying, we’re in position to secure home-field advantage in the playoffs at Audi Field over the coming weeks. I encourage you to keep a close eye on us as we look to deliver an unforgettable run in front of our fans.
We’ve also witnessed another historic achievement from our captain and goalkeeper, Aubrey Kingsbury. With her shutout against Kansas City on September 13, Aubrey has now recorded a clean sheet against every team in the league, including the Spirit earlier in her career. In addition, she has logged the most minutes in Spirit history. Aubrey is a true “Ironwoman” of the NWSL, and her consistency, leadership, and resilience embody the spirit of our club and are critical to our success.
Looking ahead, the NWSL Quarterfinals are scheduled for the weekend of November 7–9, followed by the Semifinals on November 14–16. The season will culminate with the NWSL Championship on November 22 at PayPal Park in San Jose, California. If we lock in home-field advantage, Audi Field will serve as the stage for our playoff matches, offering us the opportunity to bring record-breaking crowds and unmatched energy to D.C.
These on-field accomplishments reflect more than individual excellence. They signal the strength, resilience, and growth of this organization. As we push into our second consecutive playoffs, we are not only competing for trophies but also building a sustainable, winning franchise that drives long-term value for our fans, community, and investors.
Thank you, as always, for your partnership and belief in what we’re building here in Washington.
With gratitude,
Kim Stone
