The Spirit’s semifinal match, presented by Alarm.com, against defending champions and rival Gotham FC offers chance to punch ticket to NWSL Championship match
Washington, D.C. (11/13/2024) – The Washington Spirit continues its push to the 2024 NWSL Championship by hosting defending champion and rival Gotham FC in a BLACK OUT of Audi Field. Continuing the playoff theme, fans are once again encouraged to wear black to this semifinal, presented by Alarm.com. Saturday’s match will kick off at 12:00 p.m. EST and is the fifth semifinal in Spirit history, the second home semifinal and the first ever hosted at Audi Field.
Before the game, fans should join Spirit Supporters at Solace Outpost in Navy Yard beginning at 10 a.m. Fans and supporters will congregate and celebrate at Solace Outpost until 10:45 a.m. when the Supporters March, a new tradition this season, commences. The march path moves from Solace to Gate A of Audi Field, and around the concourse before kickoff.
Like last week, Sandlot Bar will open outside of Gate A, alongside a Spirit coffee market and tailgate. Vendors at the market will offer things like coffee, tea, cider, pastries, and more. Not only will you want to get to Audi Field early to grab a hot beverage, but the Trinity Rodman hair braiding station returns, along with face painting, tailgate games, and poster making. Additionally, merchandise stands have been expanded, featuring a small stand outside Gate A that will be supplied with cold-weather items.
Upon entry, the first 6,000 fans will receive a custom Spirit trucker hat. Game programs feature a special centerfold – “Thank You to Fans” – from Spirit players. Fans that attended last week’s quarterfinal match are welcome to bring their “Spirit v. Everyone” flags.
Inside of Gate A, popular local DJ Pedro Night will hold down the Spirit Stage throughout pregame. Pedro Night will have prizes for the most hype fans, so be sure to stop by. Meanwhile, Spiritville will continue to include elements such as EAFC stations, Supporters tables, soft play zone, and face painters. Fans can also meet DC United and USMNT legend Bill Hamid at the ESPN 630 DC concourse booth throughout pregame.
Make sure to check out merch stands located throughout the concourse and Events DC club, as well at Spirit coffee market and tailgate before the match. Last week, the Spirit unveiled its “New Growth” collection from Creative Director, Domo Wells, which nearly sold out. There will also be playoff specific merchandise available for sale, including the item of the match, a Spirit vs. Everyone black crew sweatshirt. Any ticketed fan can order items online for in-stadium pickup during the match.
Stay in your seats at halftime for a special performance by DC’s own platinum recording artist DJ Kool, including his platinum single, “Let Me Clear My Throat.”
Other game elements include Fanatics Sportsbook’s Kick for Cash and trivia for a chance to win $500 in Fanatics Sportsbook cash.
Following the match, the celebration will continue at both Dacha Beer Garden and BlueJacket in Navy Yard. Dacha will offer fans with tickets $5 Dachnik beers, while BlueJacket will offer a $15 Holy Trinity special including a burger, fries, and house lager.
