At the Washington Spirit, we are proud to celebrate Black Excellence not only within our club but also throughout the DMV. For our final Black History Month Spotlight, we honor Briana Scurry, a two-time Olympic gold medalist, World Cup champion, and Hall of Famer. She paved the way for generations of young Black women in soccer, breaking barriers and redefining what’s possible. From the pitch to her advocacy for mental health and inclusion, her impact extends far beyond the game.
