Boyds, Md., (3/5/19) – The Washington Spirit kicked off its Advanced Development Program (ADP) 2020 cycle on March 4 last night.

The ADP provides professional-level training to select youth players from PA, MD & VA with classroom and field sessions. Spirit Pro Team Head Coach Richie Burke was in charge of the field session together with his staff including Assistant Coach Tom Torres,  High-Performance Director Michael Minthorne, Goalkeeper Coach Ian McCaldon and Reserves Coach KJ Spisak.

From the first team, Spirit Pro Team players Katie Lund, Jaye Boissierre, Averie Collins, Brooke Hendrix and Kumi Yokoyama joined the sessions.

Youth National Team Scout Todd Bramble was also in attendance on behalf of U.S. Soccer.

This “Path to Pro” event is a part of the Spirit’s larger commitment to making an impact on soccer from the youth level. By bringing First Team players together with rising youth stars, the Spirit advance the club’s goal of Changing the Game Now.
