BALTIMORE (1/16/20) – The Washington Spirit have drafted Natalie Jacobs with the 13th overall pick in the 2020 NWSL Draft.
Jacobs was a staple in the starting XI at Southern California, as she never missed a game during her collegiate career. Jacobs made 87 appearances, starting 74 times. Jacobs contributed heavily on the offensive end during her career, scoring 26 goals and earning 23 assists.
During Jacobs’ senior season, she was third on the team in total points with 17, leading the club with nine assists and scoring the third most goals with four. Jacobs scored in her final collegiate game at North Carolina in the NCAA Elite 8 to earn National Team of the Week honors from Top Drawer Soccer.
The Spirit received the 13th overall pick in a prior trade with Sky Blue FC. The Spirit also received the fourth overall pick (Ashley Sanchez), the 17th overall pick and a first-rounder in the 2021 Draft.
