Boyds, MD., (12/17/19) – The Washington Spirit and Pepco are proud to announce a new sponsorship that will run through December 2020.

As part of the sponsorship, Pepco will have a presence at all 2020 Spirit home games at Audi Field, Segra Field and the Maryland SoccerPlex. Additionally, Pepco will become the Presenting Sponsor for the Olympic return game following the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

Gretchen Hamm, Chief Marketing Officer for the Spirit, said this on the new sponsorship: “As we grow our fan base around the DMV, it is wonderful to receive the support of strong, local companies. Their commitment to women’s soccer here in Washington is significant and we are thrilled to have them in our corner.”

“We are excited to be an official sponsor of The Washington Spirit and its roster of world-class athletes,” said Mellanie Lassiter, senior manager of Corporate Relations from PEPCO. “From powering the stadium lights to keeping fans connected, Pepco is proud to support the team during this exciting time for women’s soccer.”

Pepco is a unit of Exelon Corporation (Nasdaq: EXC), the nation’s leading energy provider, with approximately 10 million customers. Pepco provides safe and reliable energy service to approximately 883,000 customers in the District of Columbia and Maryland.
