Washington Spirit’s Monique Ngock and Cameroon Win 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations

Washington, D.C. (08/16/2026) – Incoming Washington Spirit midfielder Monique Ngock led her native Cameroon to its first-ever Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) championship with a 3-0 win over Malawi in Sunday’s final. Ngock is now just the fifth player in NWSL history to win WAFCON and second in Spirit history after Nigeria’s Francisca Ordega did so in 2016.
