Martínez and Paraguay will face El Salvador in two away friendlies
Washington, D.C. (10/06/2026) – Washington Spirit forward Claudia Martínez has been called up to the Paraguay Women’s National Team, the Paraguayan Football Association announced recently. The side will face El Salvador in two away friendlies taking place in the Salvadoran capital.
Martínez made her debut for the Paraguayan senior team in July 2024 at just 16 years old. Earlier this year, the forward tallied five goals in two matches for La Albirroja, including a four-goal outing against Bolivia in CONMEBOL Women’s Nations League play. Since joining the Spirit in January, Martínez has appeared in 23 total matches, tallying five goal contributions, four of which have been game-winners.
Paraguay’s October Schedule:
The Spirit will take the pitch at Audi Field next on Saturday, October 17 when the side hosts rival Gotham FC. Kicking off at 12:30 p.m. EDT, tickets are available at WashingtonSpirit.com/tickets.
