Dear Investors,
As we enter the final stretch of the regular season, I wanted to share a quick update on where we stand both on and off the pitch.
We currently sit third on the NWSL table with a 14-8-4 record and can clinch a playoff berth as early as this Sunday when we travel to Houston to face the Dash. After an international break, we return to our District v. Empire rivalry match against Gotham at Audi on Oct. 17th.
From there, the opportunity gets even more exciting. Once we clinch, we expect to host a quarterfinal match at Audi Field during the opening round, November 6–8. And this year, the road to the championship ends at home: the 2026 NWSL Championship will be played at Audi Field on Saturday, November 21, in primetime on CBS. I hope many of you will be with us for the playoffs. Please let us know if you plan to attend so we can make the appropriate arrangements.
The momentum off the pitch is equally strong. On Saturday against Angel City FC, we welcomed 19,215 fans for our fourth sellout of the season and reached another important milestone: more than 200,000 fans through the gates this regular season, a new single-season club record and the first time in Spirit history we have crossed that mark. We finished last season at 189,000. We now rank third in the NWSL in total attendance.
Commercially, we are also working to capitalize on the postseason opportunity. We currently have several partnership proposals in market tied specifically to playoff inventory, creating the potential for incremental revenue as we move deeper into the season.
When playoff tickets go on sale the Monday following our clinch of a playoff spot, we begin with an exclusive presale for season ticket members, which is another important way we continue to reinforce the value of membership.
Finally, championship week will make Washington, D.C. the center of the NWSL. The week will include the NWSL Awards on November 18, the Skills Challenge on November 20, Fan Fest, and the Championship at Audi Field on November 21. These will be strong opportunities for hospitality and engagement, and we would love to host you. Please let us know if you plan to be in town.
