Rodman earns honor for second time in her career, collected five goals and an assist in July
Washington, D.C. (08/06/2026) – Washington Spirit star forward Trinity Rodman has been named the NWSL Player of the Month for her stellar July performance, the league announced today. This is the second time Rodman has won Player of the Month, having earned the honor last September as well.
Rodman scored five goals, three of which were match-winners, and added a match-winning assist last month as she helped lead the Spirit to a 5-1-0 record in July and the side’s first move to the top of the table since 2023. With her start in Utah on July 29, the forward also became the youngest player in league history to start 100 career regular season matches. Since returning from the April international break, Rodman has been nearly unstoppable for Washington, tallying eight goals and five assists over a 12-match span.
The NWSL Player of the Month is selected by the NWSL Media Association, a collection of writers that cover the league consistently and the NWSL’s on-air broadcast talent. Awards for the month of July are based on performances during regular season matches.
The Spirit will next take the pitch at Audi Field on Saturday, August 8 when it takes on the North Carolina Courage. Kicking off at 6:30 p.m. EDT, the match’s theme will be Spirit Worldwide: Culture Night. Tickets are available at WashingtonSpirit.com/tickets.
