Boyds, MD (May 28, 2018) – Washington Spirit midfielder/defender Rebecca Quinn has been called into Canada Women’s National Team training camp ahead of a friendly coming up June 10 against Germany in Hamilton, Ontario..
Quinn, 22, has established herself as a mainstay on the Canadian back line, with 19 starts at the senior level. She has scored three goals and assisted two others so far in her young career with the senior national team.
Most recently, Quinn earned international caps No. 34-37 at the Algarve Cup, playing every minute of action for Canada. She played a key role in a near flawless effort by the Canadian defense, as they finished the event with three straight shutout victories.
Quinn, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2018 NWSL College Draft, has played in six games, including five starts, during her rookie season for the Spirit, totaling 401 minutes.
The Washington Spirit returns home Saturday, June 2 when the team takes on the Chicago Red Stars on the Lifetime NWSL Game of the Week at 3:30 p.m. ET. [TICKETS]
