Mex WNT
The Mex WNT won the gold medal at the Central American and Caribbean Games! Veronica Perez scored the lone goal in the semifinals to push the Mexicans past the Costa Ricans and advance to the Gold Medal Match against Colombia. The Mexicans went on to defeat Colombia 2-0 to win the Championship.

Can WNT
Closed door friendlies:
The Can WNT played two closed door matches against Sweden. The Canadians defeated the Swedes 1-0 in the first match and tied 1-1 in the second. Robyn Gayle played the first half of the second match for Canada. First Match Recap.

Player of the Year Nominations:

Diana Matheson was nominated for the BMO Canadian WNT Player of the Year Award. The winner will be announced during the week of December 15-19.

Women’s World Cup Draw
All women’s national teams who qualified for next year’s Women’s World Cup in Canada will be very interested to find out their draw! The draw takes place this Saturday December 6th. The Spirit has national team players from Australia, Canada, England, Germany, Mexico, and the United States.

W-LEAGUE

Huster scores for Newcastle
The Newcastle Jets won a must-win match against Adelaide United 2-0. Tori Huster scored the first goal of the match in the 9th minute for the Jets. This win keeps the Jets in the running for a finals spot. They play a winner takes all match against Sydney FC next weekend for a spot in the finals. Katherine Reynolds and Angela Salem also played the full match for Newcastle. Game Recap.

Canberra up early but falls to Brisbane
Canberra United took the lead in the 28th minute, but Brisbane Roar was able to equalize in the 40th minute and take the lead in the 47th. Lori Lindsey played for Canberra United. Canberra is currently in 3rd place in the league. The team needs at least a point in the upcoming final round of the W-League in order to guarantee a finals spot. Game Recap.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Melbourne Victory (from the Australian W-League) travelled to Japan to participate in the International Women’s Club Championships. The team played the Japanese Nadeshiko league champion Okayama Yunogo Belle and, although they had some good chances, lost 0-5. Lisa De Vanna and Christine Nairn played for Melbourne. Game recap.

ALLIANZ-FRAUEN-BUNDESLIGA
VfL Wolfsburg defeated FFC Frankfurt 2-0 in round 11 of the German league. Kerstin Garefrekes played for FFC Frankfurt. FFC Frankfurt is currently in 3rd place in the league standings. Game recap.
