Boyds, Md. (Sept. 26, 2018) – While receiving the highest percentage among fan voting, Spirit midfielder Andi Sullivan placed second overall in the Rookie of the Year voting for the 2018 NWSL season.

Sullivan was drafted by Washington with the first overall pick in the 2018 NWSL College Draft out of Stanford University and started 22 matches out of her 23 appearances. The 22-year-old’s rookie campaign saw her hold a 78.9% passing accuracy in 988 passes while placing nine shots on target and creating one assist.

Defensively, Sullivan led all Spirit players in tackle percentage, winning 86% of her attempts.

Despite receiving 42.4% of the fan votes among the three finalists – Imani Dorsey (24.3%) and Savannah McCaskill (33.3%) – Sullivan finished just behind Dorsey in the overall contest, who claimed top honors in the club and player voting.
