Since joining the Spirit in June 2023, forward Ouleye Sarr has made an instant impact on the Spirit front line. Sarr spent a decade playing at the senior club level in France for teams such as Paris St. Germain (PSG), Lille, Bordeaux, and Paris FC. The forward is having a career year, tallying 6 goals so far in the 2024 season. She has appeared and started in all 11 games this season.
What was your first soccer memory?
With my brother. I remember we were young. We would pass outside at home.
What’s an athlete you looked up to as a kid?
I think Thierry Henry.
Did you ever have a non-soccer job?
No.
What was your first concert?
Burna Boy! I saw him before I came here. It was recent, probably two years ago.
Do you have any pets?
Yeah, one cat.
What songs get you on the dance floor?
Burna Boy is good. Oh, and Stromae is really good, too.
What’s the next place on your travel bucket list?
Japan! I want to go badly. I think it’s beautiful.
Do you have a favorite sport to watch?
Yeah, basketball. It’s all the time action. And the mood is good – the crowd, the energy. I am an NBA fan. My favorite players are Stephen Curry and Lebron James.
What are your favorite pizza toppings?
Chicken. I love chicken. Chicken is my favorite snack, too. Sometimes chicken, sometimes beef, but I really prefer chicken.
