Washington Spirit and Marvel Team Up for the First Ever Marvel Super Hero™ Night on Friday, April 26 Featured Image

Washington, D.C. (04/21/2024) – The Washington Spirit is teaming up with Marvel to hold the first ever Marvel Super Hero™ Night against the Orlando Pride at 7:30 p.m. at Audi Field. The night will feature Marvel themed elements throughout the match for fans of all ages to enjoy in addition to experiences and amenities designed to create an unforgettable experience for fans of all ages. 

 

From pre-match to post, fans will be treated to the full Marvel experience throughout the stadium including a photo station, Marvel-themed face painting and caricature artist, temporary tattoos, and Marvel masks. Everyone in attendance will receive an exclusive Spirit Marvel-themed souvenir poster featuring Spirt players Croix Bethune, Hal Hershfelt, Casey Krueger and Brittany Ratcliffe upon exit. Fans are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite Marvel character for a chance to win prizes throughout the match (Please note: costumes with prohibited items will not be allowed). Guests will test their super hero knowledge at halftime during trivia highlighted on the video boards. Tickets for Marvel Super Hero™ Night start at $15 and can be purchased here. 

 

“We want to build a premiere entertainment brand where everyone feels included,” said Chief Operating Officer, Theresa McDonnell. “The Marvel partnership helps us invite new fan groups to experience our Spirit match, have fun and celebrate the super powers inside us all.” 

 

Upon entry, fans will receive their matchday program featuring the Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE), which will feature a ‘Saving the Environment’ scavenger hunt where fans can win prizes.  

 

Before the match, the National Anthem and Color Guard will be presented by the DC Health and Human Services Choir. The American Flag will be presented by Girl Scouts of the Nation’s Capital. Sandlot Bar will also be open prior to the match for fans to enjoy before entering Audi Field. 

 

The concourse will once again be filled with fun and activities. Spiritville will feature a soft play area for kids, EAFC for fans of video games, face painters and a caricature artist and a beer garden. Our community zone will feature Department of Energy and Environment partners including Friends of Anacostia, Casey Trees, and the Anacostia Watershed Society.  

 

Guest Services 

The Mamava nursing pod for parents near Guest Services inside Gate A. The private, sanitary space provides comfortable seating and power outlets for pumping equipment. Keyless entry and vacancy alerts are available by downloading the Mamava app.

Transportation 

Fans are encouraged to use public transportation on matchday, disembarking at either the Navy Yard-Ballpark or Waterfront Metrorail Stations. The Navy Yard Station has more capacity and is located just one stop away on the Green Line from the Anacostia Metrorail Station where parking is also available. Fans can also use the ADA shuttle that runs from Navy Yard Metro to Audi Field starting pregame and running through postgame.
