Third honor for Rodman who dazzled with two goals and two assists in September

Washington, D.C. (10/04/2024) – Washington Spirit forward Trinity Rodman has been named to the NWSL’s Best XI of the Month, presented by Amazon Prime, for her standout performances throughout September, the league announced today. The honor recognizes the top eleven players across the league for their individual performances each month.

Rodman makes her third appearance on the league’s monthly Best XI and first since her rookie season. In four September matches, Rodman netted two goals and two assists. During the Spirit’s September 7 match against Portland, the forward tallied the equalizer in the second half before assisting midfielder Leicy Santos for the game-winning goal in stoppage time. One week later, Rodman assisted longtime teammate Ashley Hatch’s 50th career regular season goal in the first half before netting the eventual NWSL Goal of the Week in the second half.

So far in 2024, Rodman has scored eight goals, tied with Ouleye Sarr for the most on the Spirit this season, and assisted on another six goals. On the international stage this year, Rodman played a crucial role during the United States Women’s National Team’s (USWNT) Olympic gold medal run as she collected three goals and an assist in a breakout tournament for the 22-year-old. In the USWNT’s quarterfinal match against Japan, Rodman netted an extra time stunner to propel the squad onto the semifinals.

The NWSL Best XI of the Month, presented by Amazon Prime award is selected each month of the regular season by the NWSL Media Association, a collection of writers that cover the league on a consistent basis, and the NWSL’s on-air broadcast talent.
