Washington, D.C., (05/31/2022) – The Washington Spirit will celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride at two home matches this season, one in Leesburg and one in DC. Saturday, June 11’s match against North Carolina at Segra Field will officially be dubbed “Pride Night” while Saturday, September 10’s match against San Diego at Audi Field will be known as a “Pride Celebration”. Some features of the Spirit’s Pride matches will include:

  • Team captain armband in Pride colors
  • Pride-themed corner flags
  • Limited edition Pride-themed Spirit merchandise (to be revealed soon)
  • Spirit Pride sticker giveaway upon entry to stadium

In addition to matchday Pride activations, the Spirit will be supporting and amplifying programming offered by club community partner SMYAL (Supporting and Mentoring Youth Advocates and Leaders).
