The Washington Spirit’s ongoing partnership with DC Scores continues with the organization’s current auction of game-worn Spirit Community Kits. Through the end of July, the jerseys that Spirit players wore for the duration of the 2022 Challenge Cup and recently autographed are available for fans to bid on here. All proceeds from this auction will be going toward funding the DC Scores program with the goal of fully funding a school in the district for three years.
The 2022 Community Kit features the DC Scores logo emblazoned across the front of the defending champions’ threads. Worn during this year’s preseason tournament, 2021 Golden Boot Ashley Hatch netted six goals while reigning Rookie of the Year Trinity Rodman tallied four goals and three assists in the Community Kits. Additionally, defending goalkeeper of the year Aubrey Kingsbury made 25 saves representing DC Scores while leading the Spirit to the Challenge Cup final. The autographed jerseys of these three standouts and their teammates could be yours through this month’s DC Scores auction.
DC Scores is an organization that works with elementary and middle school students in Title 1 schools in DC. They are in over 60 schools across DC with over 3000 kids currently registered and a goal of 6000 kids registered by 2026. America Scores has been able to duplicate the DC Scores model in 11 other cities across the US and Canada.
