Nine away matches to air on NBC Sports Washington beginning with Racing Louisville on April 1 

Washington, D.C., (03/30/2023) – Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) and the Washington Spirit announced today a broadcast partnership that will provide regional television coverage on the MSE-owned NBC Sports Washington for nine Spirit away matches during the 2023 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) regular season. The partnership includes live game coverage and integrated social media of the professional women’s soccer team on NBC Sports Washington’s linear channels.  

“We are thrilled to partner with the Washington Spirit to offer the passionate NWSL fans in the Greater Washington region more opportunities to see their favorite players, and further expose our existing viewers to this incredible league,” said Friday Abernethy, General Manager, NBC Sports Washington.  

“A regional broadcast partnership with NBC Sports Washington is another building block in our commitment to elevate women’s soccer,” added Spirit President of Business Operations Emma May. “Regional cable coverage provides greater access for fans across the region to watch our world-class players when the club is on the road.” 

Regional broadcasts bring U.S. Women’s National Team (USWNT) standouts including Trinity Rodman, Andi Sullivan, Ashley Sanchez, and Ashley Hatch into homes across the region leading up to and following the 2023 FIFA World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.  

The broadcast schedule begins with Racing Louisville on Saturday, April 1 at 3 p.m. ET. The Spirit will also take on the 2022 NWSL Champion Portland Thorns, Angel City FC, and NY/NJ Gotham FC on the road. Check here for NBC Sports Washington coverage in your area.
